David Cook’s Day Tripper mp3 has more in common with the version Whitesnake did, than with the Beatles’ rendition, but Cook is a rocker, so we’d expect that. It was nothing too drastic and was kind of bluesy. Halfway through, Cook’s his inner Frampton emerges and he uses one of those guitar/voice box things. That was pretty cool. Randy liked it a lot. Paula thinks he's ready to go sell records. Simon doesn't think it was as good as David thinks it was. He didn't like the voice box or David’s smug attitude, but Cook has already made it clear that he’s playing for the audience and not Simon. It’s hard to say who the audience favors.
