It really gives you an idea of where Adam Duritz's mind is these days from the romantic perspective and of his ambivalence to getting serious involved with anyone. ("There's always something else on my mind. There's always something I can't find."¯)

Overall, "Anyone But You"¯ is one of the stronger tracks on the Sunday morning side of the album, and is proof that a strong backbeat can do wonders. It is soft, but I could imagine it being a single. It's got a nice melody and just enough tension in it to keep things interesting.
