Thrice’s ‘Air’ disc concludes with the Silver Wings mp3, which is sure to become a fan favorite. A drum solo and deep bass lay the foundation for airy, layered vocals that float on top of the music giving the feeling of flight. It’s a dreamy, almost hallucinogenic sound underneath the vocals that carries you along on a cloud of serenity.

I’m not really familiar with Thrice’s earlier material, except to say that I’ve heard they sound a lot different now than when they were first starting out. But I would recommend that you just judge the band on this, their most recent effort because it seems like they have really hit their stride with the Alchemy discs.
