"For all the times I never never turned away / And now she is there on someone else's arms" the tune goes. It still manages to sound sunny and bright, even Beatlesque at times. And that’s a comparison I don’t think The Kooks would complain about.

I guess it would be too kooky to label the British quartet The Kooks as being part of the fun rock genre, but that’s exactly what they are. Although there are some somber entries, there is very little gloominess here and the occasional sappiness should be overlooked.
