There's a slight jab at Bob Dylan, too, not just because of the use of the "Subterranean Homesick Blues" cards device, but also because the song never says what it is we've got to do.

With so many rock bands sticking their noses into socio-political issues these days, the creative people behind this movie are making their own point about celebrities and their causes. It doesn’t hurt that the fake band Infant Sorrow really isn’t so terrible. Their music is quite listenable if you don’t take it so seriously.
