Let’s face it. Fergie’s Barracuda mp3 leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe if I hadn’t heard Heart do the original, I wouldn’t be so judgmental, but I do know the original song and it shines by comparison to the version Fergie did on American Idol Gives Back and on the Soundtrack to Shrek 3. Fergie should have listened to the American Idol judges who always tell contestants that they have to make a song their own because she certainly didn’t.

In general, I am a big fan of Fergie and think she is mega-talented, but the choice of Barracuda was not well-conceived. She’s a pop star through and through and asking her to rock out is just a bit much. Whoever is advising Fergie must have got their signals crossed!
