Some critics have compared it unfavorably to Pink or Katy Perry’s recent work, but I think it’s just catchy enough to stand tall amidst the competition. The lyrics come courtesy of Linda Perry, who is a pro and has worked with Christina before. I think the duo rise together to the level of their previous effort—“Hurt”—on Back to Basics because the lyrics are witty and biting at the same time. If you are new to Christina Aguilera, I would probably recommend starting with some of her other tracks, but I would also include this on your list to listen to. Even when Christina is not at her peak, she can out perform the electro-pop competition with her infectious vibe and confident vocals.
