It is not unusual for Kanye West to make headlines for his actions offstage, but songs like Heartless mp3 might help the singer put the focus back on his music, for better or worse. Kanye West Heartless is the second single from the Chicago star’s fourth album, 2008’s tentatively titled 808s and Heartbreaks. While it’s nice to see Kanye focusing on his music, it’s unfortunate that the result is so lackluster. Earlier efforts from West have shown him to be inspired and innovative, breathing some fresh life into the tired hip-hop scene, but that is no longer the case. Heartless download features vocals processed with the same annoying robotic vocoder sound that artists like Chris Brown and Akon have made so commonplace. Free Heartless Download is almost redeemed by its video, a colorful animated clip that is a welcome break from the usual music video imagery, but even that might not be enough to overcome the obnoxious vocals and predictable beats. Let’s hope West comes up with something better as a follow-up to Heartless mp3.
