Is anyone else annoyed by the apostrophe in Plain White T’s moniker, or is it just us? Maybe. Regardless, with songs like the new 1,2,3,4 mp3, Plain White T’s is securing its spot as one of the most popular alt-pop bands on the scene. Plain White T’s 1,2,3,4 is the second single from the Illinois band’s fifth album, 2008’s Big Bad World. Plain White T’s 1,2,3,4 download is likely to appeal to fans of groups such as Dashboard Confessional, Death Cab for Cutie and All American Rejects, thanks to Tom Higgenson’s earnest voice. Somewhat predictable acoustic pop, the free 1,2,3,4 download isn’t likely to win over anyone who dislikes the band’s usual plain pop-rock sound (or anyone that is totally sick of hearing the group’s earlier hit, Hey There Delilah), but fans of the band are sure to be pleased. The song’s corny lyrics might appeal to fans of Fall Out Boys pun-filled tracks, as Higgenson offers up lines like, “There’s only 1 thing 2 do 3 words 4 you.” The band is apparently working hard to escape the curse of being a one-hit-wonder following the unexpected success of Hey There Delilah, but it’s up to listeners to decide if 1,2,3,4 will do the trick.
