Mariah Carey seems to be back on top of the world: her new movie, Precious, and her new album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, are both earning positive reviews. The Mariah Carey Obsessed video has been raising some eyebrows, particularly the scene in which Mimi dresses up as controversial rapper Eminem. The lyrics of the Obsessed mp3 were reportedly inspired in part by the movie Mean Girls, which might explain some of the singer’s sassy lyrical punches. The Obsessed download features some pointed lyrics that seem to be targeted at Eminem—particularly those referencing drug use—a problem the rapper has admitted to struggles with (some of these lines mentioning drugs have been edited from radio and video versions of Mariah Carey Obsessed). Singing “why are you so obsessed with me?” Carey seems to be replying to Eminen’s flirtations with her and digs at her husband, Nick Cannon, in one of his recent songs.
