The Dixie Chicks’ “Goodbye Earl” is a country song about an abusive husband and a wife’s plan to poison him with her friend. My favorite part is: “Those black-eyed peas/ They tasted all right to me Earl/You're feeling weak/ Why don't you lay down/and sleep Earl.” The song is enjoyable even if you aren’t a fan of country music.
