| (EZ-Tracks) - As part of the My Grammy Moment 2008 contest, undiscovered talent will vie for a chance to perform on stage with the Foo Fighters at the 50th annual Grammy Awards, according to a recent article on Billboard.com. Unsigned instrumentalists, including string, woodwind and brass players, have been invited to submit up to 60 seconds of performance on their particular instrument to the tune of the Foos' hit "The Pretender" before January 20. Forty-five quarter finalists will be determined by a blue-ribbon Grammy panel, after which voting will be open to the public to choose three semi-finalists. Those lucky three will perform in an orchestra with the Foo Fighters and, from there, a winner will be selected to play with the band during the February 10 Grammy broadcast. “We are pleased to once again provide talented and unsigned musicians the chance to grace the Grammy stage," said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy. "This year, we reach even deeper into the incredibly diverse musical community by giving an ensemble of instrumentalists the chance to participate in another special and unique 'Grammy Moment.'” According to Billboard.com, complete rules and submission information can be accessed at the My Grammy Moment 2008 Web site on YouTube. My Grammy Moment was introduced last year when singer Robyn Troup performed with Justin Timberlake during the Grammys. | ||||||||||||
