Dionne Warwick Robbed in Rome | ||||||||||||

| (EZ-Tracks) - Thieves made off with over $100,000 in possessions from singer Dionne Warwick’s room in a tony Rome hotel on Wednesday, according to a Reuters report. The robbers stole two diamond rings, a gold necklace, a Rolex watch and a pair of earrings left on a night table while the five-time Grammy Award winner was preparing for a concert in Rome on Monday, according to the report, which was picked up from the Italian newspaper, La Repubblica. The robbery occurred in the same room at the posh Hotel De Russie where actress Cameron Diaz came face-to-face with a pair of thieves seven years ago, the report said. It resulted in Warwick, 67, being an hour late for her performance in the Italian capital. She told the crowd, "I'm sorry. I was robbed." A legendary soul/pop singer, best known for such hits as "Do You Know the Way to San Jose?," "I Say A Little Prayer" and "That's What Friends Are For,” is currently on the Italian leg of a worldwide tour. Officials from hotel refused to comment on this latest incident. | ||||||||||||
