(EZ-Tracks) - Perhaps she’s just too busy to promote an album due to the fact that she’s sleep deprived and knee-deep in diapers, but a new Britney Spears re-mix album is due out on November 22nd and this is the first time I’ve heard about it. Granted it is just a re-mix album with one new track, but this is strange marketing strategy from a girl-not-yet-a woman who has publicized everything in her life from her fragrances to how she met her free-loading hubby on the reality show Chaotic. Apparently Spears’s label wants to keep this release hush hush, although word is starting to get out and tracks have begun to surface. The release is being handled with more of an "underground" approach. The pop princess isn't on the cover — except on the Japanese version — and instead, there's a butterfly. The title of the album will be called B in The Mix and DJ’s like Stuart Price and Peter Rauhofer have worked on the album. Other tracks that have been remixed include "Me Against The Music" featuring Madonna (Justice remix), "Toxic" (Peter Rauhofer Reconstruction mix), "I'm A Slave 4 U" (Dave Aude Slave Driver mix), "Everytime" (Valentin remix), "Early Mornin'" (Jason Nevins remix), "Someday (I Will Understand)" (Hi-Bias Signature radio remix), "...Baby One More Time" (Davidson Ospina 2005 remix) and "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know" (Hex Hector club mix). The only new track on the CD, "And Then We Kiss," is remixed by Junkie XL.
Music Vixen: Is this an “underground” approach that Spears’s team is trying or is it more like Spears not wanting to steal the thunder of her hubby’s upcoming hip-hop release? She thinks much too much of herself… combined they both won’t make it past the million mark. And unfortunately in this business anything under a million is considered a dismal failure. |
