| (EZ-Tracks) - Janet Jackson has bowed out of her appearance on the upcoming edition of Saturday Night Live, with her representatives saying that the pop singer has the flu, according to an Associated Press report. “Janet did go to the hospital last night due to the fact she's been suffering from this flu that's kicked a lot of people's behinds," publicist Patti Webster told The AP in an e-mail. "She was never admitted and she is fine." Still, Webster said Jackson — who was treated at a Los Angeles hospital — was pulling out of the March 15 "SNL" telecast because "she needs some time to get better." SNL" spokesman Marc Liepis said he wasn’t sure who would replace Jackson. Jackson, 41, was scheduled to perform live Saturday night in support of her latest album, "Discipline," which was released last month. The tune “Feedback” off the album has been Janet’s biggest hit single since “Someone To Call My Lover” in 2001. Since 1986, Jackson has scored thirty-one number-one singles on various Billboard charts, and is the only artist ever to land five or more top ten singles from three consecutive albums. | ||||||||||||
