| (EZ-Tracks) - They may be older men now, but the New Kids on t he Block are coming back to the musical neighborhood, according to an Associated Press report. The popular boy band of the 80s and early 90s, have announced that they are going to go on tour and record an album some 20 years after the release of the group's multi-platinum disc "Hanging Tough." The group, whose members are now pushing 40, released a new photo Wednesday and appeared on the Today show this morning — the same time an unmarked countdown clock on http://www.nkotb.com ends. "The fan response to this has been incredible," band member Donnie Wahlberg was quoted as saying in the Boston Herald. Wahlberg was quoted as saying that he was convinced to get back together with his former bandmates — Joey McIntyre, brothers Jordan and Jonathan Knight and Danny Wood — when they decided to record new music. Wahlberg said he wrote 80 percent of the new material with McIntyre and Jordan Knight. The tour, he said, will feature both the new songs and classic NKOTB tunes. The New Kids disbanded in 1994 after selling 70 million albums. | ||||||||||||
