Rock Star Released from Jail After 14 Minutes

| (EZ-Tracks) - Troubled rock singer Scott Weiland is accustomed to making records, but last night he may have broken one instead.
The 40-year-old singer was released from jail after just 14 minutes. Born Scott Richard Kline, the singer known as Weiland turned himself in Monday morning, was booked at just after noon, and then officially checked into prison at 6:41pm, TMZ reports. He was released at 6:54pm. In April 2008, Weiland was sentenced to serve 192 hours in county jail for a DUI arrest in November of 2007. It was his second arrest on DUI charges. Known for his work with ‘90s alt-rock band Stone Temple Pilots, Weiland had a career-boost in recent years thanks to his new band, Velvet Revolver—a veritable super-group featuring members of Guns’n’Roses. Following several run-ins with the law, DUI charges and time in rehab, Weiland was kicked out of Velvet Revolver in April due to his, “…increasingly erratic on-stage behavior and personal problems…” Plans have been announced for a Stone Temple Pilots reunion tour set for the summer of 2008.
