Neil Diamond Gives Fans Refund on Concert Tix

Wendy Aron, 08.27.2008, 09:31 AM
(EZ-Tracks) - Crestfallen Neil Diamond concert goers in Columbus, Ohio, will receive a refund on their tickets because the 67 year-old singer performed there with a hoarse voice, according to an Associated Press report.

The report noted that some fans left the Monday concert early and others said Diamond completed the concert without commenting about his voice to the audience. A statement from Diamond, who is behind such hits as "Sweet Caroline" and "Cracklin Rose," confirmed that a doctor had diagnosed acute laryngitis

A Diamond spokesperson said the singer is offering a refund to those who place a request before September 5."I haven't let you down before and I won't let you down now," the singer said in an apology on his Web site. Upcoming concert dates in Wisconsin and Missouri were to be rescheduled.

Neil Diamond is a class act! A great songwriter and a dedicated performer—c’mon, would poptarts like Britney Spears or Madonna ever offer refunds for a bad performance? No way.
