| (EZ-Tracks) - The Jonas Brothers have been tapped to play the half-time show at the nationally televised Thanksgiving Day football game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks, according to an Associated Press report. According to the report, the boy band will officially begin the 2008 Salvation Army Red Kettle Christmas campaign at the November 27 contest. The fundraising drive will then continue through Christmas Eve.
The Red Kettle campaign has been partners with the Cowboys since 1997 and has raised more than $1 billion for the Salvation Army, a charity which serves about 30 million people each year nationwide. Last year, the campaign raised a record $118 million, according to the Associated Press. Previous halftime performers at the annual Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day game have included Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Sheryl Crow, Destiny's Child, Toby Keith, LeAnn Rimes, Jessica Simpson, Randy Travis and Reba McEntire. | ||||||||||||
