Nirvana Sold Out

(EZ-Tracks) - Kurt Cobain’s wife/widow, Courtney Love holds approximately ninety-eight percent of the band’s publishing rights even though she was never a band member herself. In a world where Hollywood marriages don’t last more than five years, it may seem unfair that Courtney Love owns the fruits and labors of her husband’s band for eternity - even taking precedence over Cobain’s other band-mates whom actually helped write the songs. It’s been a while since Courtney has sold a record or appeared in a movie - while she may not be completely strapped for cash, selling twenty-five percent of the Nirvana’s publishing rights couldn’t have hurt. She claims that she did it in order to carry her husband’s legacy onward into the next generation, whether his legacy is carried on in commercial jingles and elevator music has yet to be determined.

Boy, Courtney sure lucked out when she married Kurt; in the words of Kanye West… I ain’t sayin she’s a gold digger.
