LL Cool J’s Todd Smith

(EZ-Tracks) - Todd Smith is LL Cool J’s 12th album and newest showcase of his talent for collaboration. Todd Smith features collaborations with artists like Jennifer Lopez on “Control Myself,” Lyfe Jennings on “Freeze,” “It’s LL and Santana” featuring Juelz Santana, and “What You Want” featuring Freeway. A variety of producers such as the Neputunes, Trackmasters, and Jermaine Dupri also came out to help with the beats on LL’s newest album. A bonus track also features Ne-Yo on a remix of his own song “So Sick.” With all these guest artists, some fans may wonder what songs LL didn’t collaborate on. However, it seems that LL played the role of producer more than anything else on this album – using his long time credibility (he’s one of the few rappers whose career spans two decades), and fan base, as a bargaining chip to work with some of the hottest talent in the hip hop community.

LL’s been standing supernaturally strong for the past 20-years. I guess when he says “collaborate” he means “make like a vampire and absorb talent.”
