| (EZ-Tracks) - The Rolling Stones finally played their first show in Shanghai, China, after previous attempts have failed. One of the earliest attempts the Rolling Stones made to play in China was back in 1980. However, back then, Jagger and band-mates didn’t get along with the Chinese officials that they needed to approve the show. The next major push to play in China came in 2003, but that was cancelled because of the SARS outbreak – although SARS was not of epidemic proportions, the members of the Rolling Stones are rather old and more susceptible to disease. Now, in 2006, the Rolling Stones finally fulfilled a dream that they’d been pursuing for the past two decades. Playing the show however did not come without certain parameters established by Chinese censors. However, when it came down to the actual show, censors grew lax and allowed the Rolling Stones to play what they wanted. The high point of the show came when Chinese Rock Star Cui Jian joined the Stones onstage to sing “Wild Horses.” | ||||||||||||
