Smashing Pumpkins Reunite

(EZ-Tracks) - The internet is buzzing with news of the Smashing Pumpkins getting back together. The news was dropped on the Smashing Pumpkin’s website, making the news official and not just a newsworthy rumor. Their upcoming album will be their first in six years – the last album they released was in 2000. Fans rejoice as they’ve been looking forward to this moment since last summer when Billy Corgan placed a full page advertisement in the Chicago Tribue announcing that he wanted the band to “re-form.” He’s also posted more recent messages on the internet alleging to the possible reformation of the Smashing Pumpkins. However, regarding the status of the band’s original members and who will return is currently unclear. Jimmy Chamberlin (the drummer) has already signed on and bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur (who joined the Smashing Pumpkins in 1999, the year before they broke-up) has expressed interest in returning. James Iha’s status is also unknown.

Billy Corgan needs to learn how to let go, he’s gotta stop living in the past and move on.
