Shakira Sweeps the Latin Music Awards

(EZ-Tracks) - Shakira swept the Latin music awards hosted by Candela Ferro and Lupillo Rivera at the Seminole Hard Rock, in Florida. Shakira won a total of six times for her bilingual album: Fijacion Oral Vol. 1. Fijacion was released in both English and Spanish and managed to take home the number one award for the best Female Latin Pop Album. Also, Shakira’s hit song on Fijacion, “La Tortura,” won several other awards, including the coveted Hot Latin Song Award. “La Tortura” featured the famous singer Alejandro Sanz who is well known throughout the Latino music market. Shakira wasn’t the only one to come away a big winner. Daddy Yankee walked away with big wins for his developments in the Reggaeton genre. Daddy Yankee also kicked off the show with a hip-hopping performance of his hit song, “Rompe.” For those who haven’t yet heard “La Tortura” or “Rompe,” be sure to scour the internet for these Latin downloads and you’ll find yourself pleased.

Daddy Yankee’s performance was off the hook – maybe if we’re lucky we can look forward to a Shakira and Daddy Yankee collaboration in the near future.
