Rolling Stones Honored by Stax Museum

(EZ-Tracks) - In the past, the exhibits of the Stax Museum of American Soul have featured bands inspired by soul music – among their most famous honorees are the Beatles. Now, another British band, The Rolling Stones, will be joining the ranks of musicians that owe at least some of their fame to their musical foundation in American blues. Since the Stones have always been forthcoming about their blues and soul influences, it’s only natural that the Stax Museum would select them to be honored. A traveling exhibit known as “Rolling Stones 40 X 20” will join the Stax Museum and be available for viewing until August 26th. The “Rolling Stones 40 X 20” is comprised of forty different photos by twenty different photographers, and it spans the Stones’ entire musical career.

It’s funny how some of the Stax Museum’s most famous inductees are both British. Who’s next, Ozzy Osbourne?
