| (EZ-Tracks) - Madonna’s pit stop in Italy had fans ecstatic and critics frenzied – but, such is the burden that Madonna carries… People either love her or hate her, and it should be no surprise that Italy is as polarized when it comes to Madonna as anywhere else in the world. One the positive side, hundreds of her Italian fans congregated outside Madonna’s hotel and stalked her to Rome’s chic shopping district with the sliver of hope that they might be able to witness Madonna walking the Earth. However, on the flip side, others viewed Madonna’s arrival as something less messianic and perhaps something more satanic. In spite of the approximate 70,000 people that showed up at her Confession’s tour-pit-stop, hardcore Roman Catholics were less than happy, especially with her disturbing mock crucifixion which involves a “disco” crucifix and a designer crown of thorns. Whatever the case, Madonna is no stranger to controversy and an embittered veteran of battling the religious community for her right to desececrate the memory of Jesus. | ||||||||||||
