Best known for the holiday classic "Jingle Bell
Rock," Bobby Helms was also responsible for a string of
country hits in the 50s and 60s. Born on August 15, 1933, in Bloomington, Indiana, Helms first performed on his father Fred's Monroe County Jamboree, singing while brother Freddie played guitar.
