Boston was an arena rock band who’s 1976 self-titled LP remained the best-selling pop debut album until it was supplanted by Whitney Houston’s first album in 1986. Although successive efforts weren’t as popular, the group’s founder and MIT graduate, Tom Scholz, went on to make millions in the high tech arena.
