Even though a controversial lack of votes ended Chris' Daughtry's run for the American Idol crown in year 5, the resilient rocker bounced back to form his own band and fulfill the expectations of his legions of Idol fans. On July 10, 2006 it was announced that Chris had signed with 19 Entertainment and RCA Records, which holds contracts with fellow American Idol finalists Kelly Clarkson, Bo Bice, Kellie Pickler and Katharine McPhee.
