A hip hop pioneer, El-p, has come to be known for his ability to push the musical boundaries in search of intelligent,
alternative rap. Born Jaime Meline on March 4, 1975 in Brooklyn, New York, El-Producto, as he is now known, is the son of a
jazz pianist who encouraged him to become immersed in New York City's hip hop culture at a young age.
