Known for a style that would become known as salon music, Italian composer and singing teacher Francesco Paolo Tosti was one of the leading artists of the bell époque. Born April 9, 1846 in Ortona, Italy, Tosti began his music education at the royal college of San Pietro a Maiella at the age of eleven.
