Gorillaz pictures show a British virtual band composed of four animated characters-- 2D, Murdoc, Noodle and Russel. Created by Damon Albarn, from the Brit-pop band, Blur, and Jamie Hewlett, the co-creator of the comic book Tank Girl, the Gorillaz’s style is broadly 'alternative', but with a large number of other influences. The group’s first album, 2001's Gorillaz, sold over 6 million copies and earned them an entry in the Guinness Book of Records as the Most Successful Virtual Band.
