Formed in 1983 in Coventry, England, King was a New Wave pop band, led by the charismatic and outlandish vocalist Paul King, formerly of The Raw Screens. The rest of the band was rounded out by Mick Roberts (keyboards), Anthony "
Tony" Wall (bass), Jim "Jackal" Lantsbery (guitar) and John Hewitt (drums).
