Pioneers of the electronic music form, the German group Kraftwerk (German for power plant) left their sonic imprint on every musical genre that would follow. The band was formed in 1970 around the nucleus of Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider-Esleben, who had met studying classical music at the Dusseldorf Conservatory.
