Lynyrd Skynyrd pictures show the definitive Southern rock band-- a group which fused the overdriven power of blues-rock with a rebellious Southern image and a hard rock swagger. Unlike The Allman Brothers, which relied on jazzy improvisations, Skynyrd was a hard-living, hard-driving rock & roll band. They may have jammed endlessly on-stage, but their music remained firmly entrenched in blues, rock, and country. After a tragic 1977 plane crash, in which several band members were killed, the group split up.
