One of the most eclectic performers of the late 20th Century,
Nina Simone made a name for herself by taking on genres ranging from gospel to
jazz, excelling, to the delight of her fans, at a variety of vocal styles. Simone was born Eunice Kathleen Waymon in Tryon, North Carolina, on February 21, 1933.
