After a decade's worth of paying his dues, Peter Frampton became one of the most successful arena rock stars of the 70s, riding the coattails of a phenomenally popular double live album. Born April 22, 1950, in the town of Beckenham in Kent, England, Frampton started playing guitar at age eight, and took several years of classical lessons, before joining several different rock and roll groups as a teen.
