The first successful group act for Berry Gordy's Motown Records, The Miracles would go on to land over 40 singles on the R&B Top 40 chart and help define the Motown sound. The Miracles began with two young Detroit students, William Robinson and Ronald White, who had become friends and started singing together while in the fifth grade.
