One of the most important vocal groups to come out of the west coast in the 50s, The Penguins helped define the Doo Wop era. Formed in 1954 in Fremont High
School in Los Angeles, California, the group consisted of lead vocalist Cleveland "Cleve" Duncan, Bruce Tate (baritone), Curtis
Williams (first tenor) and Dexter Tisby (second tenor).
