Manufactured by pop impresario Lou Perlman, US5 is a five member boy band that evolved in 2005 from the German reality television program "Big in America." US5 consists of German-born Christoph Watrin and Mikel Johnson, American-born Izzy Gallegos and Richie Stringini, and London-born Tariq Jay Khan, They were selected after surviving a mini industry boot camp that developed their talent. Broadcast on one of the biggest networks in Germany, the frenzy over the boys began before they could take stock of what had happened to them.
