born August 21, 1984, in Ajaccio, Corsica. She began to take dance lessons at the age of 5 and soon added drama and voice instruction to her repertoire. Her parents entered her in the equivalent of Star Search later on in life and Alizee won the studio and television audience over with an interpretation of a big radio hit in France at the time. The performance led to an audition to record "Moi... Lolita" in 2000 in front of pop star Mylène Farmer and producer Laurent Boutonnat. The duo was so impressed with the 16 year old that they signed her to a contract immediately. The song "Moi... Lolita" went on to become one of the top selling singles in recent chart history. Following this, Alizee recorded the album Gourmandises, which went on to become a phenomenal smash in Europe, Canada and Japan and gave her the distinction of being the highest selling female French singer in 2001.



Gourmandises was followed by a second studio album, Mes Courants Électriques in 2003, which was also very successful, though not as big a hit as Alizée's debut album. Alizée En Concert was released in 2004 and her third studio album, Psychédélices, came out in 2007. Alizée has sold nearly five million albums and singles around the globe. She has taken part in various stage shows and live performances throughout Europe and Russia. She has also starred in a Japanese commercial. Though not nearly as popular in North America as she is in much of Europe, Alizée's dance from "J'en Ai Marre" was the inspiration for the Night Elf female dance in Blizzard Entertainment's best-selling game World of Warcraft. There is no doubt that this French dynamo is likely to impress anyone who listens to her music and that in a short time she will certainly be coined a true international superstar.
