Met guy who wrote 'Whole Again' for Atomic Kitten, at a spring seminar. He said radio shunned it, but MTV loved it, pushing it to No. 1...

Atomic Kitten music biography continued...

hailed from Liverpool, England and were in search of an outlet to fulfill their pop star dreams. The girls were barely out of their teens when they scored their first record deal with Innocent Records in summer 1999. Their debut album, Right Now, was an instant smash, yield two singles—the title track and "See Ya"—that catapulted into the Top Ten hits in Europe. Jenny Frost replaced Katona in 2001, and Atomic Kitten promptly came out with another hit, a cover of the Bangles' "Eternal Flame," which was followed by another magnificent cover, that of Blondie's "The Tide Is High." With the success of two more singles from their 2002 album Feels So Good -- "Be With You" and "The Last Goodbye" comparisons to The Supremes and The Spice Girls were rampant, and Atomic Kitten set their sights on the U.S. market. They came out with their self-titled U.S. debut in April 2003, but the album did not fare that well on the Billboard charts and the group decided to focus on the European and Asian markets. Atomic Kitten spent late 2002 and early 2003 in the studio recording their third and final studio album. Up until the recording of Ladies Night, the group mainly relied on songwriters and sometimes co-wrote songs featured on their albums. With the recording of Ladies Night, however, they decided to be directly involved in the creation of eight of the fifteen songs. Ladies Night was released in November 2003 to critical and commercial success.

In early 2004, a tour to support Ladies Night and the upcoming release of Atomic Kitten's Greatest Hits album was planned. The tour was dubbed "The Greatest Hits Tour". Shortly before the tour kicked off, the girls announced they would be splitting after the completion of the tour. Since there split to pursue solo careers, Atomic Kitten has reunited to perform together on several occasions, revisiting the era when girl groups were king (or queen!).
