Blue music biography continued...
Antony Costa, and Simon Webbe. The band released their debut single "All Rise" in May 2001 and it reached number 4 on the UK singles chart. Blue's second single was released in August with the chart-topping "Too Close", a cover version of Next's US #1 hit. Their second number one came in November with "If You Come Back". All three singles featured on debut album All Rise, which was released in time for Christmas and reached number one, eventually over 1.6 million copies alone in the UK. Blue reached number six in March 2002 with their fourth single, "Fly By II" - a remix of album track "Fly By." Their second studio album One Love was released in 2002. The album entered at UK #1, where it stayed for one week. The album spawned three singles: "One Love" (UK #3), "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word" (featuring Elton John, Ceri Evans and Daniel Evans) (UK #1), and "U Make Me Wanna" (UK #4). The album and single Guilty were released in the fall of 2003 and went to #2. The next singles were "Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours" (sung with Stevie Wonder and Angie Stone) (UK #11), "Breathe Easy" (UK #4), and "Bubblin'" (UK #9). The album Guilty sold more than 1.2 million albums in the UK, but the group's mentor, Elton John, suggested that the quartet's popularity had declined and that they should pursue solo careers. After releasing a "Best of" compilation, the members did so with a fair amount of success, but reunited in 2009, much to the delight of millions of UK fans.
