Bob Sinclar music biography continued...
just 18 years old, specializing in funk and hip-hop music, with the name Chris The French Kiss. In 1998, he borrowed the Bob Sinclar moniker from a famous French film and released the single "Gym and Tonic," a track produced by Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk, featuring vocals illegally taken from a Jane Fonda fitness tape. It turned out to be a huge anthem during the summer season in Ibiza, putting Sinclar on the map, and helping him popularize the "French Touch" in house music. His 2000 track "I Feel For You", a tribute to French musician Cerrone, from his second album Champs Elysées, hit #9 in the UK Top 40, and made him popular on the British dance scene as well. After working under different aliases, in 2005 he scored a hit as Bob Sinclar, with the single "Love Generation", which reached #1 on the Australian and German Singles Charts. The song was a major success throughout Europe. It also became one of the official anthems for the World Cup 2006 held in Germany. The follow-up hit was "World, Hold On", which featured Steve Edwards also managed to chart in the Top Ten in most of the European countries and was named the Billboard Magazine Number One Hot Dance Club Play Single of 2006, beating Madonna and Christina Aguilera The worldwide smash, "Rock This Party (Everybody Dance Now)," followed in August 2006. In May 2007, Sinclar released the Soundz of Freedom, which featured a remix of "Rock This Party" that reached number 1 in the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. By the time he released the album Born in 69 in May 2009, Sinclar had become one of house music's leading talents.
