Bobby Goldsboro-Honey-#1-1968: Former guitarist for
Roy Orbison,
Bobby Goldsboro went solo in 1962 and scored several top 30 pop hits until 1968 and “
Honey” changed his live. The somewhat morbid song about a devoted husband losing his wife rang the bell with female listeners and carried the song to the top of the charts where it would remain for five weeks. This was a career song for Goldsboro and within the next few years he had his won TV show and was charting singles on both the pop and country side. He is still active today and has had much success with a series of children’s books and characters that he has developed.
