Boney M. music biography continued...

"Baby Do You Wanna Bump" which was released in 1975. The group did not receive much success however until 1976 when they performed the song "Daddy Cool" on the famous German television show, "Musikladen." After that one television performance sales reached 100,000 each week. The single also helped sales of the album Take the Heat Off Me which was not doing as well before "Musikladen." The same year "Daddy Cool" became the first number one single from Boney M in Germany, continuing on to become a Top-10-Hit in the U.K. and Germany. Also released the same year was the successful song "Sunny," which went on to reach number one on the charts as well.
Soon after the sensation of Boney M.'s first album, the Euro-Disco group hit big again with "Ma Baker" in 1977. That same year Boney M. struck again with "Belfast" which broke the Top Ten charts in October of 1977. Boney M.'s most successful album was "Nightflight to Venus." This album was important for the band because it was their only U.S. Top 40 hit. The album was catapulted by the single "Rivers of Babylon," which was also the second-biggest selling single in U.K. chart history.
The group continued to make hits throughout the late '70s. Boney M. topped the charts with over 150 Million Units sold all over the world. The band continued to make hits with an ever-changing band lineup until the early '90s.
