relocated to Los Angeles after high school, where he got his big break in 1973, when he was cast in the soap opera, The Young and the Restless. Graduating to prime time, Hasselhoff became the star of Knight Rider in 1982. He issued his debut pop album, Knight Rocker in 1984. It was followed three years later by Lovin' Feelings, but Hasselhoff's big musical breakthrough came when he teamed with German producer/composer Jack White, and came out with 1989's "Looking for Freedom," which very much resonated with the fall of the Berlin Wall at that time and went to #1 on the German pop charts. While Hasselhoff scored another big acting role in the U.S. with the internationally popular Bay Watch, his recording career continued full force for his European fans with 1990's Crazy for You, 1993's You Are Everything and 1997's Hooked on a Feeling. His most recent album, David Hasselhoff sings America failed to chart in Europe or the United States, but Hasselhoff has been busy with such U.S. TV shows as "America's Got Talent," where he has lent his years of entertainment industry experience to the next generation of performers.
