Bentley’s self-titled debut album saw release in 2003 peaking at number four on the Top Country Albums chart owing much of its success to the hit lead single “What Was I Thinkin’”. The subsequent singles “My Last Name” and “How Am I Doin’” were also well received. His sophomore album Modern Day Drifter followed in 2005 peaking at number one on the Country chart and at number six on the Billboard 200, while the singles “Lot of Leavin’ Left to Do”, “Come a Little Closer”, and “Settle for a Slowdown” proved to be major hits. A renowned country star, Dierks earned the Country Music Horizon Award in 2005, and was also inducted into the Grand Old Opry. In 2006, he issued his third album Long Trip Alone which features the single “
Every Mile a Memory”. His first live DVD The Dierks Bentley Experience, which was filmed at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, Colorado, is expected to be released in the near future.
