tender age of six with his family's singing group, The Osmond Brothers. Originally, they were a barbershop quartet-style act, and got national exposure on television shows like "Disneyland After Dark" and "The Andy William Show." With the emergence of the Jackson 5 in the late 60s, the Osmond's changed their act somewhat to fight for a share of the burgeoning pre-teen market. The Osmonds began to appear in the teen magazines in early 1970, and by the end of that year, they were genuine superstars with their single "One Bad Apple" hitting #1 on the pop charts in February of 1971. The teen magazines quickly began to focus on the adorable Donny, making him a sensation on his own. Donny began recording solo albums and serving as frontman for the Osmond Brothers band. While the popularity of the Osmond Brothers band began to wane in the mid 70s, Donny and his sister Marie recorded a few well-received albums and took to the airwaves, hosting a popular television variety show that would run for three seasons beginning in 1976. Donny had a big comeback in the late 1980s beginning with his hit single "Soldier of Love." In the late 1990s, Donny performed in a lengthy run in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" In 2006, he took to the Broadway stage again, playing the role of Gaston in Beauty and the Beast. Of his performance, Liz Smith of the New York Post wrote, "I am here to tell you he is charmingly campy, good-looking and grand as the villain "Gaston'" While performing on the stage, Donny also recorded the album called Love Songs of the 70s, singing some of his favorite covers.

Donny continues to perform and record to this day, and can now be seen in a multi-media variety show extravaganza with his sister Marie in Las Vegas' Flamingo hotel. Tastes and styles may have changed a great deal since he was seen on The Andy Williams Show, but the loveable Donny Osmond can still draw a crowd.
