Even quadruple bypass surgery barely slowed him down as he pumped out such chart toppers as “Warning Label,” “
Addicted to a Dollar” and “I Never Knew Love.” A near fatal plane crash in 1997 forced Stone to cut back on his recording and performing schedule, but he came back in 1999 with Make Up in Love, his most pop-oriented album to date. After another hiatus, Stone returned to recording in 2004 with the release of In a Different Light off the indie label Lofton Creek Records. A renewed interest in Stone by country fans and radio stations made Stone’s comeback a great success.
